Questions to Ask Before Enrolling

Use the same questions with every academy so your choice reflects your needs, not a ranking or a promotional headline.

Before you contact a provider

Write down your intended role, whether you need initial or refresher training, your availability, and your employer’s expectations. Review the training requirements guide and current official instructions first.

Your comparison checklist

  • Course fit: What exact course, license path, and training components are included?
  • Trainer: Who teaches it, and can I verify current trainer credentials?
  • Format: Is instruction online, classroom-based, practical, or blended? Is firearms qualification separate?
  • Time: What are the dates, access period, attendance rules, contact hours, and assessment requirements?
  • Full cost: Ask about tuition, equipment, materials, range costs, retakes, travel, and cancellation terms.
  • Completion: What documentation will I receive, what review is required, and which licensing steps remain?
  • Support: Who handles questions or accommodation requests?

For employers arranging staff training

Confirm employees’ roles and existing credentials, agree on scheduling, and ask how completion records will be supplied. Treat course completion, licensing, and employer-specific onboarding as separate checks.

Compare facts, not implied endorsements

Blue Training Academy receives featured placement because of its relationship with this website. That is not an independent ranking or a Board endorsement. A Board listing also does not establish that one academy is preferable to another.
