Unarmed training is one part of the Alabama security-officer application process. An academy can teach the course and document completion; the Alabama Security Regulatory Board handles licensing.
The current training rule specifies at least eight hours of Board-approved training with a certified trainer for a security-officer applicant, with qualifications and exemptions explained in the full rule. Do not assume previous employment or a different course automatically qualifies you for an exemption.
