❓General Licensing Questions
A: No. ASRBTraining.com is an independent educational resource designed to help you understand the process. For official forms and regulations, visit asrb.alabama.gov.
A: All unarmed and armed security guards, certified trainers, and contract security companies operating in Alabama are required to be licensed.
A: Licenses are valid for two (2) years. Renewal is required before expiration to avoid penalties or interruption of employment.
💼 Applying & Renewing
A: No. Training must be completed and documented before submitting your application.
A: Yes. Use the ASRB’s License Lookup Tool at asrb.alabama.gov.
A: BlueTrainingAcademy.com offers training, licensing guidance, and document checklists to help ensure you submit everything correctly.
A: Yes. Armed guards must complete annual firearm requalification to maintain active armed status.
🧠 Training & Certification
A: Unarmed training may be available online through approved providers. However, armed training requires in-person firearm instruction and live qualification.
A: You still need to be licensed through the ASRB regardless of whether you work full-time or part-time.
A: You must complete an ASRB-approved armed course that includes 14+ hours of instruction and live-fire qualification. A current pistol permit is also required.
