What is the ASRB?
The Alabama Security Regulatory Board (ASRB) is the official agency responsible for licensing and regulating private security professionals in the state of Alabama. It was established under Act 2009‑640 to ensure that individuals and companies in the security industry meet uniform standards of professionalism, training, and ethical conduct.

The ASRB was created to bring regulation to an industry that previously operated without centralized oversight. It functions under Title 34, Chapter 27C of the Alabama Code and operates according to the Alabama Administrative Code Chapter 832‑X, which outlines procedures for:
- Licensing security officers and companies
- Approving certified trainers
- Conducting investigations and disciplinary actions
- Enforcing training and renewal standards
The board holds public meetings and follows the Alabama Open Meetings Act to ensure transparency.
